Camille Vasquez To Defend Johnny Depp Once Again Over A Claim That He Assaulted A Crew Member
Depp is embroiled in an assault lawsuit filed by Gregory Brooks, a location manager on the actor¡¯s 2018 film City of Lies.
Camille Vasquez, the surprise performer of the legal team that fought Johnny Depp's defamation case against Amber Heard, will represent the star in court once again.
Mr. Depp and Brown Rudnick partner Randall Smith will represent Mr. Depp in a personal injury lawsuit filed against him by Gregg "Rocky" Brooks, location manager for the movie City of Lies.
Johnny Depp vs. Gregg Rocky Brooks:
Gregory Brooks, a location manager in Depp's 2018 film City of Lies, had filed an assault lawsuit against Depp.
Mr. Brooks claims Mr. Depp "maliciously and forcibly" punched him in the ribs twice before offering him $100,000 to punch him in the face.
Johnny Depp claims the guy who sued him for assault after an incident on a movie set, asked for a selfie and then hugged it out with the actor. We have a copy of the photo, and it clearly shows Depp was telling the truth.

Mr. Brooks alleges the actor's actions were "deliberate and malicious" and intended to make him "suffer humiliation." The incident took place in April 2017.
Mr. Depp's "intoxication and fury" allegedly "created a hostile, abusive, and unsafe work atmosphere." Mr. Brooks claims he was fired from the movie because he declined to sign a release waiving his right to sue in the aftermath of the incident.
According to legal documents, Mr. Depp's attorneys do not admit that the actor or his co-defendants hit Brooks but argue that his injuries were caused by "self-defense" or "defense of others," and that Mr. Brooks "provoked" the actions that resulted in his own injuries.
Judge Holly Fujie will preside over the trial, which will begin on July 25 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Depp and Camille's reunion:
Camille Vasquez, the California lawyer who helped actor Johnny Depp win $15 million in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, received a promotion after the trial win.
Law firm Brown Rudnick elevated Vasquez to partner. The announcement came less than a week after a Virginia jury returned a verdict for Depp in the high-profile lawsuit.
¡°Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year,¡± said William Baldiga, chairman and CEO of Brown Rudnick, in a statement. ¡°But Camille¡¯s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now.¡±
Vasquez, who focuses on plaintiff-side defamation suits, joined Brown Rudnick as an associate in 2018 from Manatt, Phelps & Phillps.
Depp sued Heard over an op-ed the actor wrote in the Washington Post. Heard claimed to be a survivor of domestic violence in the op-ed but didn¡¯t specifically identify Depp as the abuser. She later accused Depp of abuse during the defamation trial.
