Candace Owens drops bombshell claim in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni feud: 'The true villain is Ryan Reynolds'
Candace Owens has entered the debate about the behind-the-scenes drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, suggesting Ryan Reynolds may be the true cause of the conflict. Owens claims Reynolds' involvement on set escalated tensions, leading to a heated dispute.
Political commentator Candace Owens has stepped into the heated discussion surrounding actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni and what went down behind the scenes during shoot of It Ends With Us, suggesting that Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, may be at the centre of the turmoil.
In a series of Instagram Stories on January 24, Owens shared claims from an anonymous tipster who reportedly worked on the set of It Ends With Us. According to the tip, "Lately everyone is bashing Blake Lively, but apparently the true villain in this saga is ¡ Ryan Reynolds."
The source alleges that Reynolds, 48, unexpectedly showed up on set one day and reviewed the daily footage, which reportedly sparked a disagreement. "Apparently, something in the script upset him, and things escalated from there," Owens explained.
The situation reportedly took a turn when, according to Owens' source, a heated exchange was overheard in Lively's trailer between her and Reynolds. Following this, the Deadpool star allegedly went to the WME talent agency and demanded that Baldoni, 41, be dropped as a client.
Owens offered her perspective on the situation, stating, "My opinion. Ryan Reynolds is grossly insecure. This, in part, motivated by the fact that he dates and married women who are almost a decade younger than him."
She went on to draw connections to Reynolds' professional life, claiming he has used on-screen characters to take jabs at others.
Owens pointed to TJ Miller's 2022 remarks on The Adam Carolla Show, where the Deadpool 2 actor described uncomfortable moments working with Reynolds.
Miller had recounted, "As the character, he was, like, horrifically mean to me. But to me. As if I'm Weasel.¡±
"He was like, 'You know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it's funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.' I just kind of listened and thought it was weird, and then I got off stage because they were like, 'Cut¡?'"
Owens wrapped up her thoughts by speculating that Reynolds' involvement disrupted the movie's production. "I think Blake was fine with everything in the movie she signed on for and then all that changed the day her husband showed up to set and allegedly blew a fuse," she concluded.
What is the feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni about?
In December 2024, Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of misconduct during the production of It Ends With Us. Baldoni both acted in and directed the film.
Baldoni¡¯s legal team, led by Bryan Freedman, swiftly denied the claims, calling them "false."
"It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives," Freedman said in a statement.
Adding fuel to the fire, Baldoni launched a countersuit on January 16, seeking $400 million in damages from Lively, Reynolds, and Lively's publicist, Leslie Sloane. His allegations included defamation, invasion of privacy, and civil extortion.
In response, Lively's representative dismissed the counterclaims, calling them a desperate attempt to deflect attention.
