As the Cannes Film Festival 2025 approaches, the official lineup just got even more dazzling. A fresh wave of films has been announced, featuring A-listers Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart¡ªadding serious star power to the Croisette.
Lawrence and Pattinson reunite for a dark tale of love and madness
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are set to share the screen in Die, My Love, directed by Lynne Ramsay. The film, adapted from Ariana Harwicz¡¯s intense debut novel, follows a woman grappling with postpartum depression, passion and mental turmoil. Lawrence plays the emotionally unravelled protagonist, while Pattinson takes on the role of her distant yet enigmatic husband. The film marks Ramsay¡¯s return to Cannes after her 2017 success You Were Never Really Here, which won Best Screenplay.
Kristen Stewart makes her directorial debut
Kristen Stewart steps behind the camera for the first time with The Chronology of Water, premiering in the Un Certain Regard section. Adapted from Lidia Yuknavitch¡¯s memoir, the film is expected to be a raw, deeply personal exploration of identity, resilience and art. Stewart¡¯s directorial debut is one of the most eagerly anticipated titles in this year¡¯s programme.
Ethan Coen¡¯s quirky new film Honey Don¡¯t will light up the Midnight Screenings section, while international additions include Saeed Roustaee¡¯s Mother and Child, Anna Cazenave Cambet¡¯s Love Me Tender, Sim¨®n Mesa Soto¡¯s Un Poeta, and Lav Diaz¡¯s Magalh?es. Other standout titles include Pedro Pinho¡¯s O Riso e a Faca and K¨ji Fukada¡¯s Renai Saiban.
Tom Cruise will land in Cannes for action-packed farewell
Tom Cruise is also heading to Cannes for the premiere of Mission: Impossible ¨C The Final Reckoning, the explosive finale to the blockbuster franchise.
