Christopher Nolan, the man who is hailed as the magician of films, has been nominated eight times for the Academy Award, but his first win was today at the Oscars 2024 for Oppenheimer. As he came up to the stage to collect the award, fans were in shock to know that it was his first-ever win. Nolan bagged two awards (Best Picture and Best Director).

As Nolan came on the stage to accept his first Oscar award and deliver his first speech, he said, "To the Academy ¡ª movies are just a little bit over 100 years old. We don¡¯t know where this incredible journey is going from here. But to know that you think I¡¯m a meaningful part of it means the world to me.
He then went on to thank everyone including his wife "the incredible Emma Thomas, producer of all our films and all our children", his cast ¡°Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh... so many others, all the top of their game, led by the incredible Cillian Murphy".
He concluded, "Thank you to those who have believed in me my whole career."
