Apart from these two movies, Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things, Alexander Payne's The Holdovers and Martin Scorsese' Killers of the Flower Moon are also set to feature heavily in the list. Other films that may be included in the Best Picture category include Anatomy of a Fall, Maestro, The Zone of Interest, Past Lives and American Fiction. Other films including The Color Purple, Society of the Snow, All of Us Strangers and May December could also be hot favourites.

Actresses who contending for Oscar 2024 nominations as per popular belief include Emma Stone (for Poor Thing), Lily Gladstone (for Killers of the Flower Moon) Sandra H¨¹ller (for Anatomy of a Fall), Carey Mulligan (for Maestro), Margot Robbie (for Barbie), Greta Lee (for Past Lives), Annette Bening (Nyad). There's also still a chance that Fantasia Barrino could make it to the list for her performance in The Color Purple star.

For best directors, the names in the running are Martin Scorsese for Killers of the Flower Moon, Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer, Greta Gerwig for Barbie, Jonathan Glazer for The Zone of Interest and Yorgos Lanthimos for Poor Things.
Apart from them, Robert Downey Jr and Da'Vine Joy Randolph are all likely to score big.
