Unlike Us Plebs, Hollywood Celebs Have Their Own Exclusive Dating App & It¡¯s Like Another World
I think most of us would agree that dating is hard. Come on, you have got to be living on some other planet if you disagree with this!
In a world, where everyone is chasing some goal or the other, it gets pretty hard to maintain a healthy work-life balance forget personal life.

Gone are those days when people would move mountains for their beloved. Not that we are completely cynical, every now and then, there emerges a story or two that ends up reinstating our faith in love.
Now, you would think that it wouldn¡¯t be that difficult for the elite folks, right? Guess what, even they find it hard to find someone to love. And to top it all, it¡¯s not just the plebs like us who go on dating apps in search of a companion, even the celebrities do! Shocked? Well, don¡¯t be.
People who use dating apps on regular basis have seldom bumped into a known face (not influencers *eye roll*). Do you ever wonder why?
Well, we can¡¯t say about Bollywood but Hollywood has their very own exclusive app which cannot be accessed by any commoner. Not just them, the app is full of models, professional athletes, internet celebrities, fashion designers, and basically anyone with a recognizable face. So much so, that it is even called ¡®Illuminati Tinder¡¯.
Called Raya, this app works exactly like Tinder but instead of strangers, it only has people who are well-known. And mind you, it¡¯s not a recent discovery because it has been around since 2015.

How does this intriguing app work?
To maintain exclusivity, it¡¯s an invite-only app. It also swears by privacy and secrecy and guess what, it also has penalties for anyone who disregards the rules! Taking a screenshot is absolutely forbidden and can lead to your account getting revoked. That¡¯s not all, the minute someone tries to take a screenshot, an alert is sent out threatening to kick the individual off the app if the photo appears online anywhere.

Unlike other apps, this app for the rich and the famous has a membership fees - $7.99 per month, to be precise. And instead of syncing with Facebook, it links up to Instagram.
Now, the most important question of the hour - Which all celebrities have used this app?
Well, you are in for a big surprise. In a quest to find love or a good time(who knows), many big names have availed of this opportunity. Here¡¯s taking a look at 8 celebs who are notable users of Raya.
Trivia: The Raya app was created by Fifty Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson¡¯s half brother Jesse Johnson!
1. John Mayer

The 42-year-old country singer used to be an active member back in the day. According to Us Weekly¡¯s source, Mayer¡¯s profile is ¡°a slideshow of photos set to a Neil Young song.¡± Mayer has had a history of dating some big names including Katy Perry who is now engaged to Orlando Bloom. As of this moment, we are not sure if he is still an active member or not.
2. Chelsea Handler
new jersery monthly magazine
Popular TV host Chelsea has not only used the app in the past but she has also broken the most important rule of all. In an interview, she revealed that she screen-shotted a guy on the app. She said, ¡°Some guy on that dating website Raya. I sent it to my friend showing her my options. You're not supposed to do that though-every time you take a screen grab they say you're being reported.¡±
3. Demi Lovato
style caster
Before getting into a serious relationship with her present boyfriend Austin Wilson, Lovato has had her share of friendships and relationships including a certain Jonas brother. Back in 2018, she revealed to Billboard that she had used Raya after getting a recommendation from Amy Schumer.
"I put myself out there, because I was ready to date. And I went on a few RAYA dates, and they went well. Now I¡¯ve become really good friends with some people I met on there," she told Billboard.
4. Drew Barrymore

After splitting from her then husband Will Kopelman, Drew decided to try her luck at Raya. Talking about the same at The Ellen Show, she said,
"I heard Amy Schumer saying she met her boyfriend on there. So, I went on it - and no one responded."
As if no matches bit wasn¡¯t enough, she then went on to reveal that one guy even ghosted her after she messaged the dude she had matched with.
"I texted with this one guy and I said, 'OK, sure, if you feel inclined to go for a drink, that'd be great. But zero pressure.'... Never, ever a response."
5. Amy Schumer
comedy central
Meanwhile, Amy Schumer met her former boyfriend Ben Hanisch via Raya app. She even described her experience in her book - The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo.
Amy matched with Ben in the first 40 minutes of joining the app.
"He was dancing with his grandmother in his profile picture at what looked like a wedding. His song was 'LSD' by ASAP Rocky, my favorite song on that album. He wasn't an actor or photographer by trade like all the other guys -- and he didn't live in L.A. or New York," she wrote.
"He was a Chicago guy. We sent each other very simple hello's and short, funny messages."
This match was so successful that Schumer took down her dating profile from Raya two days later. Unfortunately, this match didn¡¯t turn into a happily ever after for the actress/comedian. The duo split up in 2017 and Schumer is now happily married to Chris Fischer.
6. Adele
hello magazine
Newly single singer Adele is reportedly the latest celebrity to join the trending dating app for celebs to find true love.
The 31-year-old Grammy winning artist split from her husband Simon Konecki some while ago. However, the duo was allegedly estranged since last Christmas. The Send My Love To Your New Lover singer has taken a step forward by signing up for Raya and we are pretty excited for her to find ¡®the one¡¯.
7. Ben Affleck
vanity fair
Ben Affleck has got his online dating groove on. Amid alcoholism relapse and rehab visits, Affleck made headlines when he casually announced that he is looking for love on Raya.
According to reports, not only did he change most of his photos, but he also set his favorite song to Bob Marley¡¯s track, ¡°Guava Jelly.¡±
Interestingly, he made a post about it but mixed it with a good cause. Taking to Instagram, he posted,
¡°HA, you got me. I¡¯m dating. But let¡¯s be serious for a moment and talk about something that is actually important,¡± he wrote. ¡°I have been in recovery for over a year and part of that is helping out others. @themidnightmission is an incredible organization that helps those in need with housing, training, development and recovery. I¡¯m making a donation today because there are people battling addiction every day that don¡¯t have the resources and need help,¡± he continued. ¡±@raya, you in? Who else is with me?¡±
8. Joe Jonas
variety
Before getting hitched to Game Of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers¡¯ fame and elder brother of our national jiju Nick, was an avid user of Raya. While the details of his experiences are unknown, it¡¯s safe to say that things didn¡¯t turn out well but our man is now happily married to the love of his life and the Queen in the North.
Other popular celebs that have been on the app include names like Sharon Stone, Harry Styles, Cara Delvigne, Kelly Clarkson, Trevor Noah and Matthew Perry(Yes, Chandler Bing!) among others.
Are you also wondering if the same kind of system exists for Bollywood as well? Only time will tell!
