'If Endgame Isn¡¯t Cinema, Don¡¯t Know What Is', Avengers Writers Slam Martin Scorsese¡¯s Marvel Insult
Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely said that if that&rsquos not cinema don't know what is. Robert Downey Jr had said that Martin Scorsese's comments made no sense because Marvel films play in cinemas.
Marvel films aren¡¯t cinema, they are more like theme parks ¨C that¡¯s what Martin Scorsese had said about the superhero films that has ardent fans all over the world. Of course, people looked at it as an insult and he received a lot of backlash.
Reacting to the controversy, Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely said that if that¡¯s not cinema, don¡¯t know what is!
"I just react by going... everyone is entitled to their opinion. Clearly, this movie ¡ª Endgame ¡ª has reached a great number of people and has pleased a great number of people, I have to say, in a way that a movie has not in a long time, in a group coming together," Christopher stated to Variety.
He added, "If that's not cinema, I'm don't know what is. That is a collective, emotional experience that happened worldwide."
Stephen also added, "All sorts of movies for all sorts of people. This one seemed like it was for a lot of people."
Talking in the same, Robert Downey Jr had said that Martin Scorsese¡¯s comments made ¡°no sense¡± because Marvel films play in cinemas.
¡°I mean it plays in theatres. I appreciate his opinion because I think it's like anything, we need all of the different perspectives so we can come to centre and move on.¡±
When asked if he felt insulted, he said, ¡°I mean look, it'd be like saying Howard Stern isn't radio. It makes no sense to say it.¡±
