¡®Kacha Badam¡¯ Singer Bhuban Badyakar Admits Sudden Fame And Money Offers 'Spun' His Head
Bhuban accepted that he has been 'trying' hard to stay grounded after his 'Kacha Badam' stint.
One of the most successful stories of the internet fulfilling the dreams of ordinary people with real talent is Bhuban Baduakar. A peanut seller from West Bengal became a viral sensation for his song 'Kacha Badam.¡¯
The song became a hit on social media, with millions of reels made by social media users on Instagram.
While his success is a testament that dreams come true, it also makes us realize at a certain price.
In a recent interview with Etimes, Bhuban accepted that he has been 'trying' hard to stay grounded after his 'Kacha Badam' stint.
The singer made headlines after his song and was flooded with offers by several music companies. Bhuban said,
"I am still an average peanut seller from a rural village. The money that came my way suddenly had distracted me initially, and I bought a second-hand dream car, but then I realized it wasn¡¯t really me. The accident was a reality check for me."
Bhuban faced a crisis when he met with an accident while driving his newly-bought second-hand car. He said,
"I have now realized I don't really need a car."
He is currently at the peak of his career and has been recording new songs and performing at stage shows.
In the same interview, he confessed that the sudden stardom and 'money offers' did "spin" his head for some time. He confessed that he does realize where he comes and he is okay going back to selling peanuts if need be. He said,
¡°It was all my fault. I am not a celebrity. If needed, I will again sell peanuts. Believe me, and I have always tried to stay down to earth. I am not used to handling these starry things, and that¡¯s why the celebrity remark was blown out of proportion."
Bhuban has already composed two more songs, which are ready for release. He added,
"I wrote two more songs - one is 'Saregama' and the other one on what happened after I bought a second-hand car, the accident, and then deciding not to drive a car again. The song is titled 'Amar Notun Gari.' Through this song, I have tried to let people know about my views on life."
Bhuban, who is probably living a dream, said he has been receiving a lot of invites to perform in Dubai and Kerala, but he doesn't own a passport, and his wife doesn't want him to travel abroad.
