'I Got Carried Away', Lock Upp Contestant Ali Mercchant Admits To Cheating On Ex-Wife Sara Khan

Ekta Kapoor's Lock Upp is being streamed online and marks the first collaboration between MXPlayer and ALTBalaji. The show, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, has been in the limelight ever since it began streaming on February 3.

The show features sixteen celebrity contestants locked up behind bars and streams 24x7. Ali Mercchant is currently a part of the show along with his ex-wife Sara Khan.

In a conversation with Payal Rohatgi, Ali was seen confessing that he did indeed cheat on his ex-wife Sara.

Speaking about his wedding with Sara inside the Bigg Boss house, Ali said, ¡°I was about 23 at that time. Our generation at that time, we were very kiddish, and immature. I thought it would be a great opportunity to make history as the first couple to get married on a reality show (Bigg Boss 4). And when two people are in love, the next step is to get married. The wedding took place and then I came out of the Bigg Boss house. Before the show, we were living in for two years. After I came out of the show, I realised there were a lot of issues between our families. Main pagal ho gaya tha (I had gone mad). I couldn¡¯t figure out what to do. When I had left the show, she was being linked up with co-contestant Ashmit Patel."

He then revealed that it while he was on a trip to Delhi, at a club, that he got 'carried away'.

"Then I went to Delhi on a trip. I was in a club and I got carried away. I met a girl, we spoke over the phone. We met and I got carried away and I regretted a lot," he said.

He further added how he wanted to be the one to tell Sara about the incident but 'the girl got in touch with her maamu and the told her' instead. "So it was all out in the media. Before I could damage control, the media was there and everything started falling apart. So then we separated," he said.

In an earlier episode, Sara Khan had revealed that Ali had 'cheated on her with several women'.¡° She had said, "He was the first guy in my life. I fell for him and then we started dating. At one point of time, we had a lot of differences. I was cheated on a lot of times. I used to forgive, forget and get back. At one point, I decided I am just going to move ahead in life. I was 17 when I fell for him. And it is difficult to forget someone when you fall for at that age."

She had then added that Ali entered Bigg Boss 'without her knowledge and started manipulating her saying that she is not playing the game well.' She also said that Ali convinced her that if they tied the knot in the house, everything will be fine.

"I thought if that¡¯s what it takes then let¡¯s do it. I was very stupid. We came out of the house and he again started cheating on me. Not one, but several women. I thought kahin toh rukega," she had said.

Ali and Sara got married inside the Bigg Boss house in the fourth season of the show. They made several headlines and were the first couple to tie the knot on national television.
