The film continued its run on Monday, January 27, and dominated the other Pongal releases. Madha Gaja Raja is an action comedy, directed by Sundar C.

Madha Gaja Raja remains a force to reckon with

Vishal and Santhanam¡¯s Madha Gaja Raja has exceeded expectations at the Tamil Nadu box office despite being a 12-year-old film. It made a decent impact at the ticket window on January 27 and remained the top choice of moviegoers in Tamil Nadu.

Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, told Indiatimes that Madha Gaja Raja grossed Rs 50 lakh in Tamil Nadu on Monday.

The film opened to a good response at the box office and collected Rs 5 crore on the first day. It then remained stable and earned Rs 47.5 crore in 10 days. The film subsequently added another Rs 8 crore (approx) to its total over the next six days. Madha Gaja Raja¡¯s total collection stands at Rs 55 crore.

The film received favourable reviews with critics lauding the performances and comic elements. The healthy word-of-mouth helped it overpower Vanangaan and Kadalikka Neramillai.
