Madha Gaja Raja shines on Pongal
Sundar C¡¯s Madha Gaja Raja, which was originally supposed to hit the screens nearly 13 years ago, finally opened in theatres on January 12 and exceeded expectations at the box office. The film collected Rs 10 crore in Tamil Nadu in the first two days and then witnessed good growth on January 12. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, Madha Gaja Raja grossed Rs 6 crore on its third day.

Madha Gaja Raja benefitted from the mixed response to Game Changer and Arun Vijay¡¯s Vanangaan. The film also did face much competition from Kadhalikka Neramillai, starring Ravi Mohan, as the romantic comedy-drama caters mainly to an urban audience. Madha Gaja Raja is expected to stay stable in the days to come as the word-of-mouth.
