Nayanthara slams Dhanush for not letting her use film footage in Netflix documentary, calls him ¡®vile¡¯
Dhanush did not let Nayanthara use footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary. He also sent a legal notice to the team. Nayanthara has now hit out at the National Award winner for his actions.
Nayanthara has openly hit out at Dhanush for not letting her use footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, her upcoming Netflix documentary. In a three-page note, she accused the actor of festering 'vengeance against the film¡¯. She also emphasised that she, unlike Dhanush, is a self-made star with no connections in the industry.
Naanum Rowdy Dhaan emerged as one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2015 and helped Nayanthara consolidate her standing as Kollywood's undisputed ¡®Lady Superstar¡¯. It was produced by Dhanush under the Wunderbar Films banner.
Nayanthara has strong words for Dhanush
The Vignesh Shivn-directed Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was a landmark release for Nayanthara at a professional and personal level. It emerged as a massive success and received rave reviews. Moreover, ¡®Thalaivi¡¯ fell in love with Vignesh during its shoot. The two subsequently dated for nearly seven years before tying the knot in 2022. Despite this, no clips from the film have been used in Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, a documentary about Nayanthara¡¯s life and career, as Dhanush didn¡¯t provide an NOC to the makers. Moreover, he sent a legal notice to the team after some visuals from the film were used in the trailer of the documentary
Nayanthara has now taken to Instagram to slam Dhanush for his actions. She said that he hit an ¡®all time low¡¯ by sending the legal notice and promised to deal with it ¡®befittingly¡¯. She also implied that the Maari 2 star is not who he ¡®portrays¡¯¡¯ during public functions and audio launch events.
¡°We were startled to read those lines wherein you questioned the usage of some videos (just 3 seconds) which were shot in our personal devices and that too BTS visuals that are already very much publicly present on social media and claimed a sum of Rs10 crores as damages for the mere 3 seconds. This is an all time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans but clearly, you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner,¡± read a part of her post

Nayanthara, meanwhile, is going through a busy phase on the work front. She will soon be seen in Test, co-starring Madhavan. She also has the eagerly-awaited Mookuthi Amman 2 in her kitty. Dhanush, on the other hand, will soon be seen in Kubera. The Telugu-Tamil bilingual film also features Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
