'Nepo baby' debate returns with Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani's Uyi Amma dance track: 'PR hard at work'

The film Azaad is set to introduce several star kids, including Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgn and Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani. As is often the case, star kids inevitably attract attention¡ªoften sparking heated discussions about nepotism. The latest focus of this ongoing debate is Tandon's 19-year-old daughter, who has found herself in the spotlight following the release of the song 'Uyi Amma' featuring her from the movie.

The song, brought to life by composer Amit Trivedi, has vocals of Madhubanti Bagchi paired with evocative lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and choreography by Bosco Leslie Martis.

Rasha's expressions and performance in the song have been praised by some, with comparisons to Katrina Kaif. However, a few felt she might be a bit too young for the role she's portraying in this energetic dance number, which seems to be made for the 'male gaze.'

Director Abhishek Kapoor praised Rasha Thadani's performance, saying, "Rasha's electrifying dance has added the perfect spark, making this track a memorable dance anthem."

Azaad stars Ajay Devgn, Rasha Thadani, Aaman Devgan, and Diana Penty, and follows the journey of a skilled horse rider (Ajay Devgn) who escapes the ruthless English army.

As more videos and reels of Rasha Thadani started circulating on social media, it became clear that her PR team was working overtime.

One Reddit thread hilariously pointed out, "No one knows who she is, but her PR team is working overtime to convince us otherwise. Reels, reels everywhere, and the collective reaction is still: Who?"

Another comment added, "The number of PR posts I've seen of her on Instagram and TikTok is insane."

Someone else wasn't holding back, saying, "They're shoving her down our throats, and she isn't even good? But of course, this bare minimum will be celebrated because, well, nepo babies."

However, one comment summed up the mixed feelings quite well: "Her expressions were actually good, and she fit the song. She's 19 and technically an adult, so it's her choice. The song, though? It sucks."
