I personally loved the film; Varun stole the show, while Banita left her mark with her silence in the film.
Indiatimes had an opportunity to talk to the leading actress of the film, Banita Sandhu, who is beaming with joy with all the positive response, the film is getting. ¡°Honestly my friends and family said they love it and they are very impressed with my work¡±.
We asked her if she's surprised with the mixed reactions and Banita has the most sorted reply to it,
¡°We warned the audience it¡¯s not a love story, it¡¯s a story about love, it¡¯s a slice of life film, it¡¯s not a fantasy or imaginary life, it¡¯s a real life and these things do happen in real life.¡±
She even revealed that she personally too was very upset with her death in the film,
¡°You know I was so upset that I die in the film, I cried a lot and told my mom that I die, but then I realized if I was her in real life and I am so incapable of doing anything, she is never going to be normal again, I would hate to live that life. I think I was selfless and let her die in the film, and if people wanted to see my romance with Varun Dhawan then it¡¯s very selfish of them, because the way she fell, was bound to die and the audiences should be selfless enough to let her die and not think of their romantic angle, because that will be selfish.¡±
The new sweetheart of B-town reveals us the most challenging part of October, ¡°The most difficult part wasn¡¯t the language but it was the week when I had to stay still and keep my eyes closed, it was very difficult. We were shooting for 8 to 10 hours and I had to be still the entire day. I wasn¡¯t drinking water or even eating and I used to get very jealous of everyone around me because they could talk for the longest time. It¡¯s very hard to keep your eyes closed for hours, so yes that was my most challenging part.¡±
Talking about learning Hindi for a film, considering she is a Welsh-born Indian origin, Banita said, ¡° I mean you can see in the film, I hardly have any lines, so the language was not a difficult part, I was speaking in English anyway, but we fixed my accent in post-production. ¡°
Banita says she always dreamt of becoming an actress, ¡° I would love to settle down in India and do more films. Right now, I am studying and once I finish that, I will start learning the language. Since I was very young I thought of coming into acting, I know it sounds very clich¨¦, I was struggling a lot to get good work in India but due to language, I got a lot of rejection, but I never gave up and luckily my hard work paid off with October.¡±
After working with Varun, Banita wants to work with Aamir Khan, she is a diehard fan of the actor,
¡°I love Irrfan Khan and Aamir Khan. I like what Alia is doing right now. But I would love to work with Aamir Khan. I loved Dangal; it was such a brilliant film.¡±
Before signing off, we asked Banita if not acting what she would she choose as her alternate career, ¡°If not acting, I would become a painter and paint the entire world with my art¡±.
Well, she's totally doing that with her performance. More power to you, Banita.
