Pathaan In Rs 200 Crore Club: 11 Records That The SRK-Starrer Broke In Just 2 Days Of Release
As SRK and Deepika's starrer enters the 200-crore club in just two days, here's a look at 11 records that the film broke with its release.
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan is in theatres now. The film which was released amid roaring controversies has now entered the 200-crore club. As reported by Trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Pathaan on Day 2 grossed over Rs 235 crores globally with Rs 70 crores earning just in India.

1. Highest-ever Opening For A Shah Rukh Khan Starrer
Pathaan turned magical for SRK¡¯s filmography as well. The Don actor who has 62 films in his name, saw his highest first-day collection with Pathaan. Earlier, this record was held by ?SRK's 2014 film Happy New Year which opened at Rs 36.31 crore. Other films of SRK that are on the list of Day 1 huge earnings are Chennai Express with Rs 30.48 crore, 'Dilwale' with Rs 20.37 crore and Raees with Rs 20.29 crore.
2. Highest Day 1 Opener For Any Hindi Film Ever
In the history of Hindi cinema, Pathaan became the highest opener ever. With a net gross of 55 crores, this SRK starrer surpassed 'KGF 2' and 'WAR' which earned Rs 53.95 and Rs 51.60 crore respectively. 'Thugs of Hindostan' and 'Bharat' are in the fourth and fifth spots with earnings of Rs 50.75 and Rs 41.62 crore.?

3. Highest-grossing First Day For A Non-Holiday Release
To take a risk with a Non-holiday release is a risky bet but this SRK release did it smoothly. Releasing on Wednesday (25th January), Pathan earned itself a record for the highest-grossing first day for a non-holiday release. The film, fortunately, picked up with huge margins on Day 2 as it fell on the Republic Day holiday.
4. Pathaan Is the Widest Global Release Of Any Hindi Film
Pathaan was released in 100 countries together making it the widest release of any Hindi film ever. Furthermore, with a thundering response ahead of its release, the distributors scheduled Pathaan to release over 5200 screens around the country. But with an unexpected rise in ticket sales, 300 more screens were added. With 2500 overseas screens, Pathaan released at almost ?8,000 screens worldwide.

5. Highest-opening Indian Spy Film Ever
Pathaan also holds the record for the highest opening day for an Indian spy film. Part of a YRF Spy Universe, this record was initially held by Salman Khan for 'Ek Tha Tiger' which opened at Rs 30 crore in 2012. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's 'WAR' then broke Salman¡¯s record and recorded Rs 50.61 crore earnings in 2019. ?
6. Most Advance Bookings Ever
Talking about just three national chains PVR, Inox and Cinepolis, Pathaan had 4.10 lakh advanced ticket bookings in its name. That also didn¡¯t remain limited to the Hindi belt, the advance booking demand remained unexpectedly good in all languages.

7. First Hindi Movie To Have Shows Starting From 6 AM.
With the roaring demands of Pathaan across formats like IMAX 2D, CGV 4DX 2D, D-BOX 2D, PVR P, and CGR ICE 2D, shows are starting as early as 6 AM and as late as 12 AM in the morning making it engage the theatres round-the-clock.

8. YRF¡¯s Highest First Day Opener And Their Third Film To Cross 50 Crores On Day 1.
With all the stated facts earlier, Pathaan naturally becomes the highest opener for YRF and its third film to open above the 50 crore box office mark. Other than Pathaan, War [Rs 51.60 crore] and Thugs Of Hindostan [Rs 50.75 crore] hold the previous record for Yash Raj Films.
9. Highest-grossing First Day For Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone who remained the centre of attraction for her song Besharam Rang in Pathaan ended up earning her career¡¯s highest opener with Pathaan. Previously, this record was held by her film Happy New Year which opened at 44.97 crores and then Chennai Express which opened at 33.12 crores.
10. Highest-grossing First Day For John Abraham
The hottest antagonist of this action-thriller John Abraham also saw his highest opening with this film. John Race 2 held this record previously with 20.70 crores. Other films on this list from his career are Welcome Back and Satyamev Jayate with around 19.50 crores in earnings on Day 1.

Filmmaker Siddharth Anand also saw his highest opener with Pathaan and undoubtedly we can say this film will also become his career¡¯s highest-earning film. This soon-to-be-broken record is currently being held by War with its lifetime collection of 317.91 crores.
