Celebrity Wives Who Supported Their Husbands Financially During Their Struggle Days
1. Vikrant Massey's wife Sheetal Thakur
Vikrant Massey recently revealed how his wife supported him at that time when he decided to quit the Television industry and try his luck in films. He was earning Rs 35 lakhs a month. "My parents were in shock when I told them I am going to restart over in films. I was making a lot of money. At the age of 24, I was earning Rs 35 lakh per month, especially for someone who comes from a middle-class background. I quit TV at the time when I had a Rs 35 lakh per month contract in my hand. I decided to do good work and find peace," he told Samdish Bhatia in an interview.
A year later, Vikrant Massey had exhausted all his savings. That is when his wife Sheetal helped him financially. While he would go take up auditions, his wife would take care of the finances.
2. Pankaj Tripathi's wife Mridula Tripathi
Pankaj Tripathi came to Mumbai 2004. He struggled for eight years to bag a substantial role in Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012. In all these years his wife supported him. "To be honest, I did not earn anything between 2004 and 2010. She (his wife Mridula) bore the burden of all expenses involved in the upkeep of our household. I used to roam around in Andheri and urge people ¡®koi acting karwa lo, koi acting karwa lo'. But no one listened to me at the time. Now, when I go home, I find movies being offered in my parking lot," he had once told Navbharat Times. Here's Pankaj Tripathi's love story.
3. Maniesh Paul's wife Sanyukta Paul
Maniesh Paul is one of the most recognisable faces in the entertainment industry. From hosting TV shows to award nights, he is hailed as one of the best anchor/TV presenters we have in India currently. When Maniesh Paul moved to Mumbai after his marriage to pursue acting, "Sanyukta took up a job as a teacher; I was juggling my job & a few anchoring assignments. We barely got any time together, but she never complained... not once. Then in 2008, I was jobless for a year¨CI didn't even have the money to pay the house rent. But, Sanyukta took care of everything. She'd say, 'Be patient¨Cyou'll get a great opportunity soon.' And a year later, it did; I bagged a TV serial. Things started picking up¨CI went on to do reality shows & award nights. In 2011, we had a daughter & in 2016, a son. Finally I¡¯m in a place where I can take time out for Sanyukta & my kids. And it¡¯s a rule that I don¡¯t talk about work on the dinner table," Paul had revealed in a conversation with Humans Of Bombay.
4. Arjun Bijlani's wife Neha Swami
TV actor Arjun Bijlani is a big name in the industry now. However, during his initial days in the industry, the Left Right Left actor didn't bag any substantial roles. He was dealing with tough times as his father also passed away during that phase. At that point in time, his wife was a big support. "In the initial stage of my life, I had lost my father. I had no direction, about what I needed to do. I hardly had any work. I had not even done Left Right Left when I met Neha. I was playing a character role back then. She had once paid my mobile bill from her account. That was the situation I was in. So she has been my Shakti. My mother¡¯s name is Shakti. When I lost my dad, my mother was my Shakti. And then Neha came in," Bijlani said during an interview with ETimes.
5. Sharib Hashmi's Nasreen Hashmi
The actor-writer-producer who is best known for playing JK Talpade in the Amazon Prime Video series The Family Man had revealed in an interview with Indiatimes that his wife was his strength during his struggle days. In another interview with Siddharth Kanan, he added, "It was my wife Nasreen who supported me and stood by my side. She told me, ¡®If this is what you want to do in life, then I am with you.¡¯ She had left her job after our son was born. But when we exhausted all our savings, it was she who took up a job again to support the family. She was dabbling with her job and family together. Hats off to her." During this time, his wife became his strength. "We both were struggling, but it was her who sacrificed more. If she would have said no early on, I would have never become an actor. The way she encouraged me, gave me confidence and strength to follow my dreams."
