She recently tried her luck in Bollywood again with Shahid Kapoor's Deva. However, things didn't work out as the action-thriller under-performed at the box office. So, does this spell trouble for her career in Bollywood?
Deva: Pooja Hegde tastes failure in Bollywood again
Pooja Hegde recently suffered a setback when Deva, her latest Bollywood film, failed to live up to expectations at the box office despite receiving positive reviews. However, analysts feel this is not a major blow for her.
According to Prashanth Rangaswamy, a critic, the dull response to Deva is unlikely to affect Pooja's stature as the film was not a star vehicle for her.
ˇ°I don't think this will affect her career too much. We could have speculated about this aspect had Deva been a female-centric film. However, as the film wasn't that there will be no impact,ˇ± he told Indiatimes.
Komal Nahta, a trade analyst, too feels that Pooja's fans don't need to be worried about her future as she is 'doing well' in the South. Moreover, he feels that she never had a strong standing in Hindi.
ˇ°Pooja is doing well in the South. She is a good dancer. So, there is no scarcity of work. This is not an alarming situation. Also, none of her Hindi films have done well so far,ˇ± he told Indiatimes.
Pooja Hegde started her Bollywood career with Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro, which bombed at the box office. The actress was also seen in Houseful 4, Radhe Shyam, and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
