"I did expect it to be a big hit, but the No. 1 tag I never expected ¨C that was a beautiful surprise," Ram Charan told Variety. "That was mind blowing for us, even for Rajamouli I feel."

1. He is the son of movie megastar Chiranjeevi.

One of the most bankable and talented actors of the South Indian industry, Ram Charan is the son of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi. He made his debut in 2007 with film Chirutha for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut South. He shot to fame with SS Rajamouli's fantasy action movie Magadheera in 2009. And then, one film after the other, he just kept proving his mettle as an actor.

2. He is the grandson of a freedom fighter.

Ram Charan's maternal grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah was a homeopathic doctor who was actively involved in India's freedom struggle. He was once arrested by the British during the Quit India Moment. He was also an actor and a comedian who worked in almost 1,000 movies.

3. He made his Hindi film debut in Priyanka Chopra starrer Zanjeer in 2013.

11. He will next be seen in tentatively titled RC 15, a political drama that will also star Kiara Advani.

Ram Charan signed this film while he was shooting for RRR. To be directed by Shankar, the film will be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Not much is known about the film, but if grapevine is to be believed, Ram Charan will essay the role of a politician who builds a corruption free state by becoming the youngest chief minister.
