Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies is not just a hilarious story of two brides who get lost on the same train, it is also a heartwarming story about finding yourselves. It's not everyday you find a script so good in Bollywood. The film has all the elements; it is going to make you laugh and also cry at many moments. Despite being predictable, the story of the film is weaved in beauty, authenticity and simplicity. 1. Nitanshi Goel as Phool Kumari

Nitanshi Goel who essays the role of young bride Phool Kumari has been praised by one and all. The actress who started her career a model after she won Miss Pantaloons Junior Fashion Icon 2015. She has appeared in several TV commercials as well as print ads since then. As a child actress, she has appeared in many TV shows including Naagarjuna: Ek Yoddha, Karmaphal Daata Shani. Ishqbaaaz. Daayan and Peshwa Bajirao among others. She made her Bollywood debut with Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Vicky Donor, and has also appeared in movies like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Indu Sarkar and Hurdang. Her simplicity has won her praises in Laapataa Ladies.

2. Sparsh Shrivastav as Deepak Kumar

Sparsh Shrivastav who essayed the role of Deepak Kumar, whose wife Phool Kumari gets exchanged with another bride, first appeared in dance reality show Chak Dhoom Dhoom. He was then seen in Balika Vadhu as Kundan, who is Nimboli¡¯s husband. After his amazing performance as Deepak Kumar in Laapataa Ladies, Sparsh will next be seen in Sara Ali Khan starrer Ae Watan Mere Watan.

3. Pratibha Ranta as Jaya

Pratibha Ranta who portrays the role of an assertive, ambitious, and intelligent young bride Jaya in Kiran Rao film has previously appeared in tv shows like Qurbaan Hua and Aadha Ishq. Born in Shimla, Pratibha Ranta said that she found the character quite relatable to her own real life story. "I always wanted to be an actor. I was dreaming about it when I was little but people would not get me. In Mumbai, it is normal to see people around you going for a shoot, but there is nothing like this in Shimla, so they could not relate to. My family was worried and reluctant to send me to Mumbai but I was adamant about taking the chance," she told PTI.

Ranta said she started auditioning for movies when she realised that she was not growing in the world of television, and to her surprise she was selected for Laapataa Ladies. "I was like , 'Arey waah! Yeh kya ho gaya.' Then I was told that I had to meet Aamir sir and perform in front of him. I struggled a bit because I am a huge fan. Aamir sir liked my performance but he didn't say yes or no. But while exiting the room, I felt that maybe this is one of the best days of my life because I was very honest. I was like 'I will see what happens next.' I got a call that I had been selected as soon as I reached home. I didn't even know how to react," said the 23-year-old.

4. Chhaya Kadam as Manju Maai

Chhaya Kadam who essayed the role of Manju Maai, the wonder of tea stall, has won people's hearts with her one-liners. The Indian actress who predominantly appears in Marathi and Hindi films has previously starred in films like Fandry, Sairat, and Jhund and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi among others. With her small yet impactful role, she has delivered a brilliant performance in the movie.

5. Ravi Kishan as Shyam Manohar

Ravi Kishan who plays the role of Police officer Shyam Manohar said that he felt alive after 33 years as a craftsman after doing Laapataa Ladies. He is once again back in spotlight after the Kiran Rao movie.

6. Geeta Agrawal Sharma as Yashoda

After playing Madam Aulakh, a politician who runs a cocaine racket in crime-thriller CAT, to a resilient mother 12th Fail, who takes charge of the house and farm, Geeta Agrawal Sharma once again proved her acting mettle in Laapataa Ladies. For the unversed, Geeta started her acting journey with TV shows such as Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai and made her movie debut with the 2007 film Foto. Almost a decade later, she featured in the comedy film Mubarakan, which then landed her a role in OMG 2.

7. Satendra Soni as Chotu

Satendra Soni who plays the role of Chotu, the hawker on the railway station who becomes the lost bride¡¯s unofficial young guardian, is a a native of a small village in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh who has become a rising star in the world of entertainment. The actor who did theatre after his 12th grade has also appeared in The Kapil Sharma show. In 2023 movie Bhagwan Bharose, he essayed a lead role.
