Exclusive: Meet Saurabh Sachdeva, Animal & Jaane Jaan Fame Who Trained Actors Like Rana Daggubati And Freida Pinto
The man who impressed us all with his stellar acting skills in Bambai Meri Jaan, Kaala, Jaane Jaan and Haddi, Saurabh Sachdeva is an acting coach who has tarined actors like Rana Daggubati and Varun Dhawan.
We are always fascinated by how actors mesmerize us but who¡¯s behind their flawless craft? Acting coaches. They are the people who train and polish the artists so that they can do what they do.
Saurabh Sachdeva is one such acting coach. Infact, Saurabh most recently played Kareena Kapoor Khan¡¯s husband in her OTT debut Jaane Jaan.
In an exclusive conversation with Indiatimes, Saurabh revealed what goes behind the preparation of some of these amazing actors.

Saurabh is known to have trained actors like Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Harshvardhan Rane, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vani Kapoor, Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Raghav Juyal, Kubbra Sait, Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Asha Negi, Shakti Mohan, Rithvik Dhanjani and Mandana Karimi.
Saurabh entered the world of glitz and glamour under the guidance of the acting veteran Barry John. He reveals wanting to be quickly rich and acting was his only hope. He joined Barry¡¯s acting school as a student but destiny ended up making him an acting coach instead.
"Acting was never my passion but after years of living in it, teaching acting became my favourite drill."

When he was asked to school students, at first he denied it because ¡°I was very scared. I thought teaching was a very big responsibility and I never respected my teachers in school. I only respected Barry Sir because of the way he was treating me otherwise I always thought the teachers were teaching the subject, not me.¡±
¡°Later, I started teaching and I loved it so much that from that day, it's almost 22 years now and I'm still teaching. I have never looked back since then.¡±

Saurabh revealed that his void of being dyslexic as a kid was filled after seeing his students express themselves well.
¡°When I was diagnosed with dyslexia, I was struggling with my own education because I couldn't express myself at a young age. Just because of my lack of vocabulary and words, I always feared that I would be shamed or guilty. When I got the opportunity to teach, I felt very happy seeing the students express themselves.¡±

Saurabh hates it when somebody in the industry is uneducated about the craft.
¡°Even when we are running against time, we need to be more sensitive and more educated about the work. Sometimes we are not educated enough so even after writing good stories, we are not able to execute them. People also need to understand how important is discipline or the calmness or the silences in the process. Things can go well if you talk comfortably which many don¡¯t.¡±
Sachdeva recently starred in Nawazuddin Siddiqui¡¯s popular web series Haddi.
Sharing that he had a surreal experience working on this project, Saurabh heaped praises on Nawaz. ¡°I loved working with him. Somehow we are on the same page and we have a similar thought process. Even though we have come from different schools, our way of thinking and approach to acting is similar. Him just being there was so powerful.¡±
Saurabh who worked with Siddiqui previously in Sacred Games further sang songs for Nawaz¡¯s ¡®beautiful and powerful¡¯ eyes.
The Housefull 4 actor recalls training a young boy who went to Oscars. He shared that he was once training a group of street kids and he spotted a guy named Sagar.
¡°I cast him in a film which unfortunately didn¡¯t release but then he did another film, a short film based on the lives of brick makers and that film went to Oscars. It was a very proud moment for me. He came back to work in some serial and was paid Rs.3000 per day. That was a big thing for his family, him and me too.¡±
Saurabh's most recent on-screen outing was with Jaane Jaan, where he played Kareena Kapoor Khan¡¯s husband. Sharing the experience of working with her, Saurabh said, ¡°I was quite comfortable as she made me feel so. She was very open and I made sure that she was relaxed around me. No stardom or tantrum, a simple and sweet lady.¡±
While working with Sanjay Mishra in Vadh, Saurabh learnt the art of staying grounded.
¡°He has so much respect for art and work. Sanjay sir is so free from himself and not limited to anything. He lives life. He goes down and meets people and that¡¯s how everyone knows him as a people person. He¡¯ll never act as a star but just as a normal person. It's fun with him, a young soul and a well-spoken man.¡±
Saurabh shared his favourite list of actors with us.

¡°Late actor Irrfan Khan is my most favourite. Manoj Bajpayee is another such actor who has quite a big range. Among actresses, I feel Alia has that range. And also Kangana for say is such a brilliant actress.¡±
After impressing audiences in Bambai Meri Jaan, Bhoot Police and Good Luck Jerry, Saurabh will be next seen in Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.
