He has often been spotted kissing his engagement ring that he would wear around his neck in a chain after every small and big victory in cricket. Yet the trolls would blame his wife, who apparently is his strength, for his bad performances. During his low phase before 2022, Anushka Sharma was a target for trolls. So much so, that people would blame her presence and call it a distraction for Virat Kohli playing on the field.

In 2016, Virat had slammed the trolls. " Shame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what I do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity.

"This was long time coming. Shame on these people that hide and take a dig. And I don't need any respect for this post. Have some compassion and respect her. Kohli on the other hand would often say that Anushka was his biggest strength through his low phase. He said that she stood by him through the toughest times. "I mentioned one special person - Anushka - who stood by me through these tough times and I mentioned her as she has seen the absolute raw side of me throughout all these months. She was the one putting things in perspective for me, kept giving me the right kind of guidance, and vision moving forward and I came back into the system as a relaxed person."

In September 2022, when he hit his 71st hundred, he dedicated it to his wife Anushka and daughter Vamika proving yet again how she is his biggest strength.

But the trolling hadn't ended even then.

For his frequent spiritual visits with his wife, he was trolled again as fans remembered he had once said "Do I look like the pooja-paath types?". The trolls, however, forgot that people change and evolve over time.

A few days back in the ICC World Cup match against Netherlands, he asked his wife to clap for him so they could jointly celebrate the first wicket he took. The moment strangely made everyone's hearts flutter, and thus, the power couple proved yet again that they stand by each other.

Yesterday's semi-final match against New Zealand was groundbreaking for Kohli as he broke his idol Sachin Tendulkar's record by hitting (50) most number of ODI centuries. Heh first bowed down to him who was at the Wankhede Stadium and then had a brief celebration moment with wife Anushka Sharma. They both blew kisses to each other.

During the match, when he was in the dressing room, he came to the balcony looking at the upper tier of the stand for Anushka Sharma. "Men in love are something else," an X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote while several others gushed over their outpouring love for each other.

Meanwhile, Anushka has penned a heartwarming note for her husband on his win.

Do you know once Kohli said he was cranky, snappy and unfair to Anushka Sharma in his low phase. "In my case, in denial, frustration was creeping in. I was very cranky, and very snappy in my space. It was not fair on (wife) Anushka (Sharma), my close ones, it's not fair on the people who support you. So I had to take responsibility and kind of put things in perspective," he was quoted as saying.
