Ram Charan's Game Changer underperforms in Tamil Nadu, earns only 15% of what Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 made

Ram Charan and director Shankar's Game Changer, which hit the screens on January 10, was expected to do well in Tamil Nadu because the I helmer is a popular name in the state. However, according to a trade analyst, it has failed to live up to expectations at the box office and ended up as a failure

Game Changer fails to impress at the Tamil Nadu box office

Shankar's Game Changer, one of the biggest releases of the year, has flopped at the Tamil Nadu box office. According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, it earned less than Rs 11 crore in the state during its entire run.

¡°Game Changer fetched ?10.5 cr only in the state. It failed to achieve hit status,¡± he told Indiatimes.

Manobala added that Pushpa 2 too did not live up to expectations in the state but fared better than Charan's film.

¡°Pushpa 2 had grossed only ?70 cr at the TN BO. Couldn't achieve breakeven in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In both these regions the film didn't perform for the buyers leaving them in losses,¡± he said.

Going by this, Allu Arjun's film made seven times what Game Changer earned in Tamil Nadu in its full run. Puspha 2's better performance, however, is not too surprising as it is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa. Sukumar's film also featured Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in the lead.

Coming back to Game Changer, it is an action drama that centres on an IAS officer who fights corruption. Ram Charan plays the honest government servant as well as his father. The cast includes Kiara Advani, Anjali, Jayaram, and SJ Suryah. S Thaman is the music director of Game Changer.
