11 flops, Rs 1000 crore loss! With Sarfira, the downfall continues; Is Akshay Kumar's career sinking?
Akshay Kumar's career faces a major setback with 11 consecutive flops, leading to a staggering Rs 1000 crore loss. His recent release Sarfira joins the list of his failed ventures.
Once a hit machine, Akshay Kumar was known as the most bankable star in India. With his versatility, he effortlessly dominated the box office charts. First crowned as the action king, aka Khiladi Kumar, his adrenaline-pumping hits like Khiladi, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, and International Khiladi made him a household name. Then he switched his gears to comedy giving Bollywood timeless classics like Welcome, Hera Pheri, and Singh Is King. He then grabbed the spotlight as a patriotic hero with blockbusters like Baby, Kesari, Gold, Airlift, and Rustom. Everyone knew if Akshay was in a film, it was a sure-shot hit. However, lately, his films, regardless of the genre, have been sinking faster than a drowning man at the box office.

Akshay once gave 16 consecutive flops in 1990s and moved to Canada permanently
Akshay Kumar is no stranger to flops. In the 1990s, he delivered 16 consecutive flops. He wasn't even a star back then. It was during this time he thought his career was over and so he decided to move to Canada. His friend asked him to come to the country. "My friend had offered me that we would do cargo business together." He started living in Toronto and even got a Canadian passport. Meanwhile, his two unreleased films for which he had shot for before leaving India had released and unexpectedly they became superhits. "I told him that I was going back. Then I got more films and reached here today."
