Vidaamuyarchi: Is Ajith Kumar¡¯s Rs 105 crore fee for the action thriller only 52% of what Vijay made for GOAT? Trade analysts weigh in

Vidaamuyarchi vs GOAT: Is Ajith being paid less than Vijay?

Ajith Kumar is set to woo the audience with Vidaamuyarchi, slated to hit the screens on February 6. According to a report by Cine Ulagam, a Tamil portal, he earned Rs 105 crore for his role in the film. While there is no confirmation regarding this, trade analyst Ramesh Bala feels the figure is believable.

"I have heard different figures. It is difficult to say who is right and who is not. However, something North of Rs 100 crore is possible,¡± he told Indiatimes.

Interestingly, GOAT producer Archana Kalapathi had told the entertainment portal Galatta last that Vijay was paid Rs 200 crore for his role in the Venkat Prabhu-directed film. She had also revealed that this was nearly half the film¡¯s budget. Her past statements and these recent reports about Ajith¡¯s remuneration suggest that Vijay earned more for GOAT than the Veeram star for Vidaamuyarchi. However, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan feels that this should be taken with a pinch of salt as the ¡®actuals are hidden¡¯.

¡°A few years ago, remuneration numbers of these stars were near to accurate. But these days it's just a random number which is used to promote the star. Actuals are hidden," he told Indiatimes

Fans have often drawn parallels between Vijay and Ajith. The stars entered the industry around the same time and soon emerged as mass heroes. They even worked together in Rajavin Parvaiyile (1995).
