Producer of Pushpa 2: The Rule and Game Changer's house raided by IT dept. in Hyderabad
The Income Tax Department conducted raids on the homes and offices of Telugu film producers Dil Raju, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Naveen Yerneni in Hyderabad, investigating alleged tax evasion. Here's what we know.
On Tuesday, the Income Tax Department launched raids on the offices and homes of producers Dil Raju, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili, and Naveen Yerneni in Hyderabad. These producers have lately supported Game Changer, Sankranthiki Vasthunam, and Pushpa 2: The Rule. According to sources, raids were placed at eight separate locations in Hyderabad, including the producers' homes and businesses, as well as an internet platform.
Dil Raju's house raided by IT in Hyderabad
Raju, full name Velamkucha Venkata Ramana Reddy, is a well-known producer and distributor in the Telugu film industry. He owns Sri Venkateswara Creations. The Telangana Film Development Corporation's chairman was recently chosen by the state government.
Ravi and Naveen own Mythri Movie Makers and are well-known in the film industry. These raids follow the success of Raju's Sankranthiki Vasthunam, starring Venkatesh, and Ravi and Naveen's Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun. Raju has recently produced the Ram Charan-starring film Game Changer, which received lukewarm reviews.
All three films were recently released, with Pushpa 2: The Rule and Game Changer being produced on large budgets. According to sources, the raids were done to investigate alleged tax evasion, although more information is expected.
IT department is yet to speak up about it
The IT department has yet to address the matter.
According to Sacnilk, Pushpa 2: The Rule grossed ?1228.25 crore net in India and ?1734.65 crore worldwide since its release on December 5. Since its January 10 release, Game Changer has grossed ?125.4 crore net in India and ?179.55 crore internationally. Sankranthiki Vastunam grossed approximately ?122.78 crore in India since its release on January 14.
Raju's SVC made money in the early 2000s when he expanded into production with films such as Dil, Arya, and Bommarillu. In 2023, he produced Varisu, starring Vijay, and Shaakunthalam, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
In 2024, he produced The Family Star and Game Changer, starring Vijay Deverakonda. Sankranthiki Vasthunam was launched in 2025.
