Ram Gopal Varma claims Allu Arjun¡¯s arrest was ¡®publicity' stunt to boost Pushpa 2 collection; Internet reacts

As much as Pushpa 2 has created a furore among cinema enthusiasts, it has also brought a whirlpool in the life of its lead protagonist Allu Arjun. The Hyderabad¡¯s Chikkadapally police arrested the actor on 13th December and released him on interim bail a day after. This was in connection to a fan¡¯s death during Pushpa 2¡¯s December 4 premiere. Now, out of all assumptions, Ram Gopal Varma feels that the entire arrest episode was just to boost the film¡¯s collections.

The filmmaker took to X (formerly Twitter) and claimed that ¡®everybody¡¯ was shocked thinking why Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ¡®did this¡¯ to Arjun. He wrote, ¡°Regarding everybody¡¯s SURPRISE SHOCK about why the Honourable chief minister of TELANGANA @revanth_anumala did this to @alluarjun, I think it is because he wanted to give a BIG PUBLICITY BOOST to the Telangana state¡¯s FAVOURITE SON for a HUGE RISE in #Pushpa2 ¡®s week 2 ¡®s collections.¡±

Varma pointed out how the state processed a ¡®deliberately weak prosecution¡¯ which allowed Arjun to get bail within a few hours. ¡°This explains why the STATE did such a deliberately weak PROSECUTION so that he could be BAILED OUT in a few hours and become even more MEGA POPULAR to RULE the BOX OFFICE for a LOOONG LOOOOONGGG TIME,¡± he wrote further thanking the CM for all his efforts in making this happen in Arjun¡¯s favour.

While many users strangely believed in RGV¡¯s conspiracy theories, many were confused about whether he was supporting or slamming Pushpa 2.
