Republic Day weekend held a lot of hope for all theatrical releases and interestingly the collections in the Tollywood window have seen a significant shuffle. Here¡¯s a detailed break-up of the holiday.
Republic Day Telugu Box Office Report: One of the highly anticipated holiday weekends has closed and it has seen some significant shuffle in the collections of major Tollywood releases. Currently, there are four big theatrical outings from the Telugu industry competing against each other in the number game - Allu Arjun¡¯s Pushpa 2, Ram Charan¡¯s Game Changer, Nandamuri Balakrishna¡¯s Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh¡¯s Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
Which Telugu movie won the Republic Day weekend test?
Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule is still doing great at the box office, even after 53 days. The movie continued to perform well during its eighth week, especially over the Republic Day weekend and managed to outdo Ram Charan¡¯s Game Changer in terms of earnings. According to Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 made over Rs 1 crore, while Game Changer struggled to hit that number, despite being just in its third week.
In its eighth weekend, Pushpa 2 earned around Rs 1.75 crore, while Game Changer made about Rs 36 lakh. Nandamuri Balakrishna¡¯s Daaku Maharaaj which was released on 12th January managed to gross Rs 1.72 crore on Day 15 (January 27). Venkatesh¡¯s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, on the other hand, was released on 14th January and managed to take home Rs 9.5 crore on its Day 13.

Game Changer, which stars Kiara Advani, S. J. Suryah, and others, has faced tough competition from other recent releases like Akshay Kumar¡¯s Sky Force and Kangana Ranaut¡¯s Emergency. This has hurt its box office earnings, and after a good start, it¡¯s been struggling to keep up. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 continues to do well and is on track to become the third-highest-grossing Indian film ever, just behind Baahubali 2 and Dangal.
Let¡¯s now look at the worldwide collection of these big 4 Telugu releases. Pushpa 2 stands at No. 1 with Rs 1738.45 crore followed by Sankranthiki Vasthunam with Rs 205 crore total. The third on the list is Game Changer with Rs 184.17 crore so far and the last - Daaku Maharaaj has grossed Rs 118.5 crore globally.
