RRR: Satyadev reveals his 16-minute role in SS Rajamouli¡¯s film was chopped
The period action drama RRR is in the limelight for an unexpected reason. In a recent interview, actor Satyadev revealed that he was a part of the pan-India film but his scenes were removed. He added that he enjoyed being on its sets.
SS Rajamouli¡¯s RRR, which hit the screens in 2022, emerged as a massive blockbuster and received rave reviews with most critics lauding its grand presentation. The period action drama is now in the limelight for an unexpected reason. In a recent interview, actor Satyadev revealed that he was a part of the pan-India film but his scenes were removed.
Satyadev reveals he shot for RRR
Satyadev, best known for his work in Pitta Kathalu and Ram Sethu, is busy promoting Zebra. The crime thriller, slated to hit the screens on November 22, is touted to be a game changer for the actor as it features him in a new avatar.
In an interview with M9 news, Satyadev revealed that he shot for a 16-minute role in SS Rajamouli¡¯s RRR but the part was removed as it didn¡¯t ¡®fit in with the movie¡¯.
¡°I did my part well. At that time, my scenes didn¡¯t fit into the movie. That¡¯s why, when you first asked, I wondered how you knew about this. I never told anyone. It is my respect towards them. And of course, my role didn¡¯t fit in with the movie,¡± he said.
Satyadev went on to reveal that he never told anyone about it out of respect for those associated with RRR. He added that being on the sets of the biggie was like a ¡®masterclass¡¯ for him.
About RRR
RRR, produced by DVV Danayya, was a period action drama that explored the fictional friendship between the tribal leader Komaran Bheem (Jr NTR) and the revolutionary Alluri Sita Rama Raju (Ram Charan). It had strong patriotic undertones and expertly-crafted action scenes. The film starred Alia Bhatt as the leading lady and marked her Telugu debut. The cast included Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, and Olivia Morris.
RRR, shot a budget of Rs 550 crore, grossed Rs 1200 crore globally to emerge as a blockbuster. The film also became quite popular in Japan, helping Indian cinema scale new heights.
Coming back to Satyadev, he will be seen in a striking new avatar in Zebra. The Eashvar Karthic-directed thriller¡¯s cast includes Dhananjaya, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sunil, and Sathyaraj. It is set to hit the screens on November 22.
