Venkatesh¡¯s Sankranthiki Vasthunam is finally streaming on OTT but has met with a strange setback. Here¡¯s why the digital debut audiences are disappointed whereas TV viewers are celebrating a surprise.

Sankranthiki Vasthunam on OTT: Venkatesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary recently headlined a Telugu family entertainer which has finally made its way on OTT and TV. The streaming on both digital and streaming platforms took place on March 1, 2025, with some strange surprise and shocks. Here¡¯s a detailed look at what the chatter around the film is all about!
For the unversed, Sankranthiki Vasthunam made its television debut on Zee Telugu and started streaming on Zee5 at the same time. Released theatrically on 14th January this year, the actioner has so far grossed a worldwide of Rs 255.2 crore.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam shocks OTT audiences
After a blockbuster run in theaters, fans were eagerly excited for its release on streaming platforms. Soon after the film dropped on both TV and OTT yesterday, fans were surprised to find that the movie is shorter on streaming and about 8 minutes were cut from the original version. The theatrical release was 2 hours and 24 minutes long, but the streaming version is only 2 hours and 16 minutes.
Fans were expecting the OTT version to include some extra funny scenes that were cut from the theater version for pacing. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. On the bright side, the TV version made fans happy by playing the song Godari Gattu Paina twice to keep the audience entertained and was an out-of-box surprise.
Written and directed by Anil Ravipudi and bankrolled by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Sankranthiki Vasthunam was cinematographed by Sameer Reddy and edited by Tammiraju. This Bheems Ceciroleo musical also featured Aishwarya Rajesh, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Srinivasa Reddy, P. Sai Kumar, Upendra Limaye, Naresh, VTV Ganesh and Srinivas Avasarala among others.
