'Nobody Takes Serious Speeches Of Movie Stars Seriously,' Says SRK At KIFF
Shah Rukh Khan attended the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival KIFF. He shared that people don&rsquot usually take the serious speeches of the serious superstars seriously. He then mouthed an improvised version of one of his popular dialogues from Raees.
What is the first thing that Shah Rukh Khan does after waking up? He checks his phone to see what new controversy his name has been dragged in to. At least that¡¯s what he said during an interview with AIB.
Be it the time when he said that there was extreme intolerance in the country or the time when didn¡¯t even utter a word on the Padmaavat row, Shah Rukh Khan has often been trolled on social media.
When the ultimate Baadshah of Bollywood attended the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), he shared that people don¡¯t usually take the serious speeches of the serious superstars seriously. And perhaps there's some truth to it too.

Shah Rukh Khan was talking about the need to celebrate diversity in India, the great heritage of movies in Bengal, his experiences of attending festival inauguration events and rapport with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee when he made the following statement:
¡°I know, I know, I know nobody takes serious speeches of movie stars seriously. At the end of (it) all, I am just a good looking face. Ya, that's it,¡± he said smiling.
¡°My presence here becomes useless if I don't say some dialogue,¡± he added and then mouthed an improvised version of one of his popular dialogues from Raees.
¡°Ammijan kehti thi, ki koi film festival chota ya bada nahi hota. Lekin KIFF se sundar koi bhi dusra festival nahin hota (My mother used to say, no film festival is small or big. But no other festival can be more beautiful than KIFF),¡± he said. The audience was left cheering for him.
Other celebs who were present at the event included Saurav Ganguly, Mamata Banerjee and actress Rakhee.
Actress Rakhee, who has played Shah Rukh Khan¡¯s mother in many movies including Karan Arjun, taught him a few words in Bengali. Shah Rukh Khan repeated after Rakhee. Although, he spoke Bangla quite fine, he did admit that he didn¡¯t understand any of it. Check out the video below.
