Singer Chinmayi Criticises Swiggy Delivery Boy's Sexist Remark, Backs Woman Who Was Told To Wear Dupatta
A delivery boy turned up at the door with food and told her to wear a dupatta in her own house. Popular Tamil playback singer Chinmayi Sripada came out in support of her. She got trolled as well by some of the Twitter users.
Why do people tell you how to dress up? When you're at home you can dress up in whichever way you want to, right? Now just imagine, you order food from a food delivery website, and the delivery guy who comes to your home to deliver your order, gives you unwanted advice on how to dress up. That's exactly what happened with a woman recently.

The delivery boy turned up at the door with food and told her to wear a dupatta in her own house. Narrating the incident on Twitter, she tagged Swiggy and wrote, ¡°@swiggy_in can your employees mind their own business? One of your delivery persons asked me to put on a shawl coming to my own house. Why does it matter? Do we have to teach manners to them?¡±
¡°Why are these f**kers entitled to tell us how we dress? That too in my own house,¡± she added.

But as they say, internet is an ugly place, she got trolled as well by some of the Twitter users. To which, she responded, ¡°I¡¯ll block everyone who is making fun of this.¡±

The kinda responses for the tweet on a woman wearing a shawl - if you understand/ read Tamizh, should give you an idea of how things are around here.

Some believe a woman not wearing a Dupatta = nudity and invitation to rape.
Of course Twitter doesnt find this tweet abusive :) pic.twitter.com/CU0tsjEwz4

A delivery person seeing a man ¡°showing off his private part in his own house¡± is still a crime.

The pathetic problem is how this man justifies a swiggy delivery man advising a woman to wear a Dupatta is ¡®decent¡¯ and asks the ¡®aunty¡¯ to be grateful he was decent. pic.twitter.com/mln6ZG2JKP

For a delivery person - A house that he / she / they deliver to is a WORKPLACE for the delivery person.

Just like your home is the WORKPLACE for your cleaning staff, driver, chef, courier delivery agents or other working professionals.
Lashing out at a Twitter troll for sharing a meme on the issue, she tweeted, ¡°The pathetic problem is how this man justifies a swiggy delivery man advising a woman to wear a Dupatta is ¡®decent¡¯ and asks the ¡®aunty¡¯ to be grateful he was decent. For those who employ ¡®home deep cleaning¡¯ services, ¡®toilet deep cleaning services¡¯ your bathroom is a workplace. For plumbers and electricians your home is a workplace. For at home nurses, your home is a workplace 24/7.
