The film opened to a dull response as it struggled to hold its own against Dragon. Kingston witnessed slight growth over the weekend before collapsing on its first Monday. The film continued its run on Tuesday, March 11.
Kingston sinks on the first Tuesday
GV Prakash Kumar is in the limelight because of his highly ambitious film Kingston, which hit the screens on March 7. The horror thriller is struggling to survive at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, it earned merely Rs 31 lakh in India on its fifth day. This is lower than the Rs 51 lakh it earned on the third day.

Day 2: Rs 1.22 crore
Day 3: Rs 1.02 crore
Day 4: Rs 51 lakh
Day 5: Rs 31 lakh
The filmĄ¯s total collection stands at Rs 3.96 crore. Kingston received negative reviews, with critics panning the screenplay. This appears to be working against it. The film has also not been able to hold its own against Dragon. Pradeep RanganathanĄ¯s film has earned nearly Rs 92 crore so far and remains the top choice of the audience. It made Rs 1 crore yesterday.
