Kingston box office collection day 6: GV Prakash KumarĄ¯s Kingston, which hit the screens on March 7, is struggling to stay afloat at the Indian box office. The film opened to a dull response and witnessed limited growth over the weekend before crashing on Monday. Kingston continued its dull run on March 12, its first Wednesday.
Kingston earns just Rs 22 lakh on Wednesday
Kingston, one of the most ambitious films of GV Prakash KumarĄ¯s career, has failed to work its magic at the box office. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, the horror thriller earned just Rs 27 lakh yesterday. This is lower than the Rs 37 lakh it made on March 11.
Here is the day-wise breakdown:
Day 1: 92 lakh
Day 2: Rs 1.22 crore
Day 3: Rs 1.02 crore
Day 4: Rs 51 lakh
Day 5: Rs 37 lakh
Day 6: Rs 27 lakh
The filmĄ¯s total collection stands at Rs 4.28 crore. Kingston received negative reviews, with critics panning the execution. The underwhelming word-of-mouth worked against it and made it virtually impossible for it to survive competition from Dragon. Pradeep RanganathanĄ¯s film remains a force to reckon with even 20 days after its release.
