Naga Chaitanya is in the limelight because of his latest film Thandel. The action thriller opened to a good response at the box office yesterday. According to Sacnilk, a trade website, it earned Rs 10 crore (nett) in India on the first day. It faced no competition in the Telugu states, something worked in its favour.

The film has received mixed reviews with critics praising the performances but panning the screenplay. It remains to be seen if this affects the film once the initial buzz fades away. Thandel is, either way, expected to witness growth over the weekend because of Chay's popularity.

It deals with themes such as love and patriotism. The cast is headlined by Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi, and Prakas Belawadi. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director.
