Timeline of Govinda and Krushna Abhishek¡¯s rift: The hit actor-comedian Jodi has finally reconciled and buried their 8-year-long hatchet. Govinda will soon be appearing on Netflix¡¯s The Great Indian Kapil Show¡¯s latest episode along with Shakti Kapoor and Chunky Panday. While Krushna Abhishek avoids appearing in the episode his maternal uncle is invited, this time he shows up to publicly end their longstanding feud.

Here¡¯s a detailed timeline of their fallout saga which also involved Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja, Krushna¡¯s wife Kashmera Shah, and his sister Aarti Singh.

2016-2017: The origin of the rift

The feud between Govinda and Krushna Abhishek reportedly began around 2016 when Krushna allegedly made some sarcastic comments about his uncle that did not go down well with Govinda. During the promotions of Jagga Jasoos, Govinda made several TV appearances including on The Kapil Sharma Show but didn't show up on his nephew¡¯s show.

Krushna back then told The Indian Express, "I messaged him again four days ago, but to my shock, I learnt that he and his wife were shooting with Kapil on Wednesday. I was aghast as I expected him to support his nephew." This is when the comedian joked, "Maine Govinda ko apna mama rakha hai (I have kept Govinda as my uncle),¡± which rubbed Govinda the wrong way.

2018-2020: Govinda expressed disappointment followed by Kashmera Shah¡¯s dig

The Dulhe Raja actor during an event said Krushna makes money by insulting others on television. ¡°I was extremely upset with the 'Mama rakha hai' remark and summoned him home,¡± Govinda said adding he cannot trust Krushna anymore after he took their private tiff to public headlines.

Kashmera Shah¡¯s one tweet just fueled the fire where she indirectly labelled Govinda and his wife Sunita as "people who dance for money" on X. Ahuja was quick to bash her back and told ETimes, "All was well until Kashmera had the audacity to slyly write rubbish about us on social media, soon after that appearance. She referred to us as 'people who dance for money' in that post. Even if we were paid for that appearance, it was none of her business."

2021-2023: Sunita Ahuja¡¯s public disappointment and Krushna¡¯s apology

It so happened at a point that Kashmera stopped speaking on the matter because of her unfiltered approach and Govinda chose his peace. While Krushna continued trying to dilute the matter saying all would be well, Sunita made sure her anger was heard. Appearing on the Time Out with Ankit YouTube channel in 2023, Ahuja said that even if people try, the four cannot even share a table.

Sunita said in Hindi, ¡°See, I will tell you one thing, I won¡¯t lie, I don¡¯t get along with Krushna and Kashmera. I would do the show (Kapil Sharma¡¯s comedy stint) if they weren¡¯t involved). But he (Krushna) is with Kapil. Otherwise, I would have loved to do it.¡± The woman of her words made it clear that she cannot forgive people who have wronged me even if God tells her to.

2024: The mama-bhanja reconciliation

The year started with the highly buzzing wedding of Krushna¡¯s sister Aarti Singh and Govinda amid all anticipation, sparking a hope that it¡¯s all well between the family. This incident will be followed by the actor¡¯s upcoming appearance on Kapil¡¯s show which will solidify their patch-up after 8 long years.
