The action drama created a fair deal of buzz among movie buffs ahead of its release as it is directed by Bala, who has emerged as a force to reckon with because of his realistic brand of storytelling. The film¡¯s trailer also worked in its favour. These factors are likely to help Vanangaan open to a good response at the domestic box office.
Vanangaan set to open on a decent note
Arun Vijay, one of Tamil cinema¡¯s popular names, is in the limelight because of his latest film Vanangaan. The actioner opened in theatres on January 10. The Bala-helmed film is set to open to a decent response in India despite facing competition from Ram Charan¡¯s Game Changer. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade tracker, Vanangaan is likely to collect around Rs 5 crore on the first day.
¡°See, for Vanangaan the worldwide day 1 gross will be around Rs 6 crore. In India, it will do somewhere around 5 crore. Of this, nearly Rs 3 crore will come from Tamil Nadu,¡± he told India Times.
Vanangaan was to be made with Suriya in the lead but that did not happen. Bala later revealed that he parted ways with the Kanguva actor as it would not be possible to shoot with him in real locations. ¡®
