Several reports of Vikrant Massey continuing to shoot his existing projects and onboarding new ones like Don 3 have emerged even after the actor announced his sabbatical. The Internet is not buying it.
Vikrant Massey rose to massive fame after headlining Vidhu Vinod Chopra¡¯s 2023 film 12th Fail. However, right after his 2024 political thriller The Sabarmati Report flopped, the actor announced his break from showbiz. In a long note on his Instagram, Vikrant said, ¡°I realise it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right.¡±

In the same note, Vikrant also mentioned that he has ¡®last two movies¡¯ in credit. However, a few latest reports about his filmography tell a different story. Recently, a Filmfare exclusive confirmed that Vikrant has been cast as a villain for Farhan Akhtar¡¯s upcoming Don 3 - a film yet to start rolling. Another project that Vikrant is currently working on is Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan alongside Shanaya Kapoor.
The third film he has in his kitty is Yaar Jigri with Sunny Singh. The fourth one will feature Vikrant reuniting with Raashii Khanna in Bodhayan Roychaudhury¡¯s TME (tentatively titled Talakhon Mein Ek). This line-up and maybe more the world doesn¡¯t know about doesn¡¯t match Vikrant¡¯s sabbatical announcement and this has led the internet to break into chatter.

Soon after Massey was announced as a cast in Don 3, the discussion around his headline-grabbing break reignited. One user wrote, ¡°Sabbatical khatam kya? Or was that a cheap gimmick to shift the limelight from the failure of Sabarmati Report and the bizarre PR overdrive he went on to promote it?¡± Another one said, ¡°The more Vikrant projects we see the more I¡¯m convinced he wrote that time off message after a particularly difficult day with Shanaya and he¡¯s like fuck this.¡±
