Rajinikanth will soon be beginning work on Jailer 2, one of the biggest films of his career. The action comedy has created a buzz among fans as it is a sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Jailer and stars him in an intense avatar. On Tuesday, January 14, the makers officially announced the biggie with a video that features 'Thalaivar' at his stylish best. Music director Anirudh and the Beast director make an appearance in the announcement video.

In the video, Anirudh and Nelson are seen having a casual and seemingly pointless conversation. They are interrupted by Rajinikanth¡¯s character. The amazing background score builds an aura around the ¡®Tiger¡¯ the way it had done in the first part.
Towards the end of the video, the fierce character vanquishes his foes and proves that he is unpredictable. Rajinikanth¡¯s swag, needless to say, is hard to miss.

Jailer was an action comedy that featured Rajinikanth in the role of a retired cop and revolved around his attempts to save his son after he ¡®disappears¡¯. The cast included Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, and Mohanlal. Jailer emerged as a blockbuster and received rave reviews with critics lauding the execution. It remains to be seen whether Jailer 2 lives up to the standards set by the first part.
The film is expected to hit the screens in 2026.
