Watch: Diljit Dosanjh says 'Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai' as Bajrang Dal protests against his India tour
Bajrang Dal has been holding protests against Diljit Dosanjh¡¯s Indore concert for a long. In his recent gig, the Punjabi singer said ¡®Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai¡¯ indirectly addressing the fiasco.
It¡¯s Diljit Dosanjh¡¯s world and we are just living in it. The singer is ruling the global charts like anything and we are in for this ride. While the music magician tops up his fandom with the ongoing Dil-Luminati India Tour, a Hindu group Bajrang Dal staged protests against his Indore gig for serving alcohol and non-veg. While the organizers accepted the demands, Diljit made sure to slap it hard with his words.
What did Diljit Dosanjh say about the Indore protests?
The singer avoided directly mentioning any protest against him but during his Sunday concert in Indore, Diljit recited a part of veteran lyricist Rahat Indori¡¯s hit piece 'Agar Khilaf Hai Hone Do'. He was heard saying, ¡°Agar Khilaf Hai Hone Do Jaan Thodi Hai, Yeh Sab Dhuaan Hai Koi Aasmaan Thodi Hai, Sab Ka Khoon Hai Shaamil Yahan Ki Mitti Mein, Kisi Ke Baap Ka Hindustaan Thodi Hai.¡±
This loosely translates to, ¡°If they are against, let it be, that is not life, is it? All this is smoke, not the skies, is it? This soil here contains the blood of one and all. India is not the paternal property of someone, is it?¡± This recitation by Dosanjh was met with massive cheers, hootings, claps and applause. The singer even dedicated his Indore concert to Rahat Indori because he was performing in his birthplace.

Why was Bajrang Dal protesting against Diljit Dosanjh?
Ahead of the concert on December 8, several Hindu fringe groups led by the Bajrang Dal barged into the venue to check whether alcohol and meat were sold. Local BJP MLAs, Usha Thakur and Golu Shukla were backing these protests. The demands were met and no liquor or non-veg was sold at the venue. This is not the first time, the same fiasco had already happened with Diljit during his Hyderabad and Pune concerts.
Diljit has openly addressed these complaints and urged state governments to ban alcohol across the nation if they don¡¯t want its mention or sale during his concert.
