When Salman Khan starred in the Hindi remake of Siva¡¯s film
Kanguva director Siva gave strong proof of his abilities as a filmmaker with Veeram. The Ajith Kumar-led blockbuster became quite popular among the masses with its catchy dialogues and entertaining storyline. Nearly eight years after its release, Veeram was remade in Hindi as Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The remake featured Salman Khan in the lead and tried to do justice to his reel image.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan retained the essence of Veeram. However, the fight scenes and certain portions in the second half were altered to suit the sensibilities of the pan-India audience. Most notably, the romantic sequences in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan were a lot breezier than the ones seen in the original version.
Despite these changes, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan failed to live up to expectations at the box office and received negative review,
Incidentally, Veeram was earlier remade in Telugu as Katamarayudu (2017) with Pawan Kalyan in the lead. The Telugu version too did not do well at the box office.
