Prabhas¡¯ Kalki 2898 AD emerged as a massive success at the worldwide box office and impressed critics with its stunning climax. Similarly, Pushpa 2 became a rage among the audience and helped Allu Arjun consolidate his standing as a pan-India star. With 2025 almost upon us, here is a look at 10 blockbusters that raked in the moolah this year.
HanuMan
The Prashanth Varma-directed superhero saga centred on a young man (Tejja Sajja) who becomes the saviour of his people after acquiring Lord Hanuman¡¯s powers.
It was shot on a modest budget of Rs 40 crore and earned nearly Rs 350 crore at the worldwide box office.
Tillu Square
A sequel to DJ Tillu, the film revolved around the misadventures of a naive DJ who struggles to keep himself out of harm¡¯s way. It featured Siddu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles.
Tillu Square, which was shot on a budget of Rs 40 crore, grossed Rs 135 crore worlwide to emerge as a blockbuster.
Kalki 2898 AD
Prabhas played the role of Bairavaa, a bounty hunter and an incarnation of Karna, in this compelling sci-fi actioner.
The biggie was made on a budget of Rs 600 crore and it collected Rs 1200 crore at the box office.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram
Nani was at his best in Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, a thriller about a daring man who fights injustice only on Saturdays.
The film, which also featured SJ Suryah in a key role, collected nearly Rs 100 crore worldwide during its run and emerged as a big hit. It was reportedly shot on a budget of nearly Rs 80 crore.
Devara
Devara, Jr NTR¡¯s first release after RRR, was an action drama that centred on a mass leader who drives fear into the hearts of his foes.
The film was shot on a budget of Rs 300 crore, grossed nearly Rs 500 crore during its full run to emerge as a commercial success despite receiving mixed reviews.
KA
Kiran Abbavaram surprised the audience with his performance in KA, a thriller about the disappearance of girls in a village. Directed by Sujith & Sandeep, the film received mixed reviews with critics lauding the performances but panning the screenplay.
Despite this, KA grossed nearly Rs 50 crore at the box office to emerge as a success.
Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan floored the Telugu audience with his work in Lucky Baskhar, a crime-thriller about an accountant who gets involved in shady activities after a twist of fate.
The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, earned Rs 111.5 worldwide to emerge as a moderate success. It did well in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states but proved to an average grosser in Kerala.
Pushpa 2
Sukumar¡¯s Pushpa 2 is an actioner that explores the events that unfold when the protagonist, a smuggler, locks horns with some familiar foes while trying to expand his empire.
Shot on a budget of Rs 500 crore, the second chapter of the Pushpa saga as grossed nearly Rs 1600 crore so far.
