International Women¡¯s Day 2025: Government Initiatives for Women
Apart from the Padma Awards, the Indian government has started many programs to support and empower women.
- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (2015): This yojana helps stop gender discrimination and improve the number of girls in society.
- Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: It gives free LPG (cooking gas) connections to poor families.
- Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: It provides cash support to pregnant and new mothers for their health and well-being.
- Kishori Shakti Yojana: This yojana helps teenage girls stay healthy and develop important life skills.
On International Women's Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited women to share their inspiring life stories. He will also give his social media accounts to selected women for a day to highlight their journeys. This shows the government's effort to honor and support women across India. (as per pmindia.gov.in)
As the world works towards gender equality, such programs and awards help in celebrating women's achievements. Women like Sharda Sinha and many others have made a big impact in their fields.
