Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 6: Delhi Metro Announces Special Timings On May 25, Check Details Here

Delhi will vote in a single phase for all seven Lok Sabha seats, which will see an intense fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the INDIA bloc ¡ª comprising Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Lok Sabha elections in Delhi will take place for the following constituencies: Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and New Delhi.

The BJP is contesting all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital. In contrast, according to their seat-sharing agreement, AAP is contesting four seats: New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and East Delhi. Meanwhile, the Congress is contesting three seats: North East Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk.

On the day of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 6 in Delhi, which falls on Saturday, May 25th, the Delhi Metro will begin its services earlier than usual. To assist the staff assigned to election duty, the Delhi Metro train services will start at 4:00 AM on all lines.

Morning Service Frequency

From 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM, the Delhi Metro trains will operate at a frequency of every 30 minutes. This special schedule ensures that all election duty staff can reach their designated locations on time using the metro.

Regular Service Resumption

After 6:00 AM, the Delhi Metro will resume its normal schedule. Trains will run at their usual frequency throughout the rest of the day, making it convenient for voters and general passengers to travel across the city.

Delhi Metro Timing on May 25

For those planning to use the Delhi Metro on May 25, 2024, please note the special timings in place due to the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Early services starting at 4:00 AM with 30-minute intervals till 6:00 AM, followed by regular operations, aim to facilitate smooth transportation for everyone involved in the election process.

Additional Bus Services for Election Day

Earlier, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) announced that additional bus services will begin running on May 25 from 4:00 AM on 35 routes. Along with this, Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System Ltd. (DIMTS) will also run its bus services on 46 routes.

Delhi prepared for Phase 6 of Lok Sabha Election 2024

Delhi Police has completed its preparations for the elections scheduled on May 25. There are 2,628 voting centers, with 429 identified as highly sensitive. A total of 33,000 Delhi Police officers will be deployed at the polling booths. Additionally, 51 paramilitary companies will be on duty for security, along with 17,500 Home Guards from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh.
