Saif Ali Khan was attacked during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home. The actor was promptly taken to the hospital. According to reports, a nanny staying at their residence observed the burglar, and when Saif came out to investigate, the star was stabbed six times with a knife. Saif's children, Sara and Ibrahim, visited him in the Lilavati hospital.
Saif was publicly last seen with Sara Ali Khan
Saif's last public appearance was just days before the fatal tragedy, at the Mumbai airport with his daughter, Sara Ali Khan. The father-daughter duo enjoyed a beautiful encounter at the airport, and the video is going viral.
Saif Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan were sighted at the Mumbai airport on Sunday. A young beatboxer approached them as they exited the airport together.
Saif and Sara paused short to witness the young boy's performance, as people crowded around them. Saif stroked the young child on the shoulder and praised his effort. Before leaving, Saif hugged his daughter, and they were spotted sharing a nice moment as they said farewell.
Ibrahim Ali Khan brought the injured saif to the hospital at 3 am on Thursday.
Probe underway
The Mumbai police said in a statement, ¡°An unidentified person intruded in the residence of actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. Investigation is going on."
Encounter specialist officer Daya Nayak was also spotted outside Saif Ali Khan's residence for investigating the matter further.
The Mumbai Police and Crime Branch are stationed at Saif Ali Khan's home in Mumbai's Bandra neighbourhood. No arrests have been made thus far. The police are questioning people to gather information and track down those responsible for the break-in. Police have also sent in a sniffer dog as the investigation into the attack continues.
