Signs - Heatstroke
Some warning signs that you may observe in others or in yourself too. According to the Harvard Medical School, these point are the most common signs for a heatstroke:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Weakness
- Irritability
- Delusions
- Hallucinations
- Muscle cramps
- Headache, Seizures
How to prevent a heatstroke:
Heat strokes can be severe or mild too and it can require hospitalisation as well as treatment intensive care unit -ICU.
Instead of having to go through such treatment after a heatstroke, you can prevent this by doing some of the following:
- Avoid going outdoor or limit outdoor activities during the daytime.
- Keep yourself hydrated by drinking ample amount of water and get other sources of fluids and nutrients from fruits, lemonade, lassi and buttermilk etc.
- Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing, prefer using cottons which allows the skin to breath.
- Avoid heavy weight lifting exercises, especially which are done outside during the daytime.
- Avoid leaving children or pets inside the cars for a long period of time.
- Avoid over-consumption of hard drinks like caffeine, alcohol or fried foods.
