Heavy legs: Your legs feel too heavy to lift and walking can become cumbersome.

Erratic mood changes: Confusion, depression, sudden bursts of anger and anxiety are signs of excess production of the hormone cortisol. A stress hormone that is not released only when one is mentally bogged down but is also released due to excessive physical activity.

Excess Muscle soreness: Any physical activity causes wear and tear to the muscles, but with the right nutrition and plenty of rest, muscle soreness can be dealt with. Persistent muscle soreness is also a sign of overtraining.

An increased heart rate: Aerobic activity increases your heart rate but extensive, intense workouts put stress on the heart and overloads the heart. A resting heart rate is between 55-75. However, over-exercising can cause an elevated resting heart.

Fatigue: Inability to carry out your day-to-day activities with zeal and enthusiasm is your body's way of telling you that it is exhausted.

Irregular sleep patterns: The brain*s fuel is glucose. When you overtrain, it depletes the glycogen storage in the liver.
Insomnia: No sleep, less sleep or the need to sleep more are signs that you are overdoing it.

Amenorrhea in women: Loss of normal periods, is a common sign of over-training. This happens because the body*s metabolism suffers due to excess usage of metabolites. Some may experience very scanty flow or some may not menstruate for three to six months.
Drop in the testosterone levels in men, thereby affects the muscle strength and results in a weakened stature.
