Days before the Bob Mackie garment was scheduled to be auctioned by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, the singer hastily added it to her cart, ensuring that it found a particular place in her archive.
The garment was listed for $6,000 to $8,000, and Miley paid an undisclosed amount for it. A part of the revenues will be donated to MusiCares, a non-profit organization that provides health, educational, and financial help to music industry professionals.
Cyrus spoke about Mackie in his documentary
In Bob Mackie's documentary Naked Illusion, Miley Cyrus spoke about dress, saying, "One of the best parts of wearing a Bob Mackie on stage is that sometimes the audience is just as excited to see a Bob Mackie in person as they are to see you. It really looked like I was giving it all I got; I really wasn't doing anything but minding my business and singing the damn song because Bob and his dress was really doing all the work."
