Moving to a new city where you absolutely don't know anyone throws a hell lot of challenges your way. You feel alone, you don't have an established routine in play, no friends, the entire city feels like a maze and after a few initial horrible days of hustling at your new job, beginning of your masters or undergraduate degrees or those looking to make a new city their brand new home, there comes a day when your heart aches for a connection.

While finding the right friends, the right apartment and building an entire new life that you are happy living, can be hard, dating and finding love in a new city is something you can easily conquer. Here's how.

1. Let your interest direct you to finding love.

When you move to a new city, try making a bucket list of all the things you want to do over there. It could be learning how to sing, picking up a new language or going on artistic walks with local groups. The focus should be on doing things you have been meaning to do. And you never know who you find when you are out there doing things you are passionate about.

While you will be craving for a routine to feel more at home in a new city, this lack of a routine could be a good thing for your dating life. So if there is a museum, bar, park, shops, streets you want to visit, please do so. One of my friends met her the love of her life at a coffee shop she wanted to visit from the day she moved to London. Step out of your comfort zone and fall in love.

3. Use the 'new in town' card.

When you are new to a city, I can say this without a shadow of doubt that your social calendar won't be looking very busy. So when your new friend at work, your neighbor invites you for any social gathering- just go. The thing with love is, it can happen almost anywhere, so be out there and be open to all possibilities.

4. Ask your new friends to introduce you to potential dates.

You will make friends and develop a social circle at work, university or whatever else caused you to make this move. And none of your friends will judge you if you ask them to introduce you to their single friends. It's normal and can be fun for the entire group involved.

With no friends and no family, it can feel like a task to get ready and go out for even a meal. But you must. Because it's way easier to meet and mingle people when you are alone. Other single people who notice you in a bar, a club, restaurants or just generally anywhere else, actually then can approach you and start a conversation. So give yourself the chance to let that happen to you.
