Here*s How Gillette Is Helping The Barber Community Bounce Back
Gillette launches Barber Suraksha Programme as a show of solidarity with the barber community of India. The programme covers barbers with customized insurance that ensures they are insured against Covid-19. Gillette India is also focusing on educating barbers about the must-follow safety norms to ensure employee and client safety.
Back in the good old days (aka life before lockdown) visiting a barbershop was a simple task 每 a privilege we often took for granted. Thanks to the current health crisis, this easy task of visiting your barber also comes with a rulebook. But while we are prepared to follow all the rules to T, it has not been easy for the barber community to jump back to work after more than 2 months of no income flow.
As we unlock our cities and open our businesses (with safety restrictions in place), barbers like many other daily wage earners still have no respite. Business for them is not as per usual. Some are the sole bread earners in their family and this lockdown has cost them dearly. Unfortunately, in these unprecedented times and the ※new normal§ coming in place, our marginalized Barber community needs our helping hand and Gillette aims to do just that.
To help ease the life of thousands of barbers, Gillette, India*s leading male grooming brand, has launched the initiative, Barber Suraksha Programme, as a show of solidarity with the barber community of India.
Gillette is providing support to the barber community to help them slowly kick-start their business with the following:
Suraksha Education
A series of educative videos on health, hygiene and social distancing awareness in the community. With grooming expert Aalim Hakim, the videos consist of quick on the go content, on how to keep their barbershops and equipment sanitized, along with ensuring rules laid down by the government are followed in the shop.
Suraksha insurance
Most importantly the programme covers barbers with customized insurance that ensures they insured against Covid-19.
Suraksha kit
A back to business kit that has sanitizing equipment, essentials and products to bring relief to barbers when they open shop for business.
It is not only important to equip yourself with sanitizing equipment, but also necessary to use it in the correct way. That*s one of the biggest reasons why Gillette India is also focusing on educating the barber community about the must-follow safety norms to ensure employee and client safety. From sanitizing their shops to providing them with new grooming equipment (razors, scissors, PPE gears), Gillette is doing their bit for the barber community.
