After dabbling with 'cures' for terminal diseases like AIDS and Ebola back in 2015, the wild state now claims that its special ginseng liquor can be drunk without fear of ever getting a hangover. According to an article on the DPRK¡¯s Pyongyang Times, ¡°Koryo Liquor, which is made of six-year-old Kaesong Koryo insam [ginseng], known as being highest in medicinal effect, and the scorched rice, is highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover.¡±

So not only does it apparently taste delicious but if manage to make it through the night without killing yourself of alcohol poisoning, you will be greeted with a hangover-free morning after.

North Korea executed its Defence Minister Hyon Yong-chol for showing disloyalty to leader Kim Jong-un. If sources were to be believed, Mr Hyon had fallen asleep during an event attended by Kim Jong-un and had not carried out instructions. MPs were told Mr Hyon was killed on 30 April 2015 by anti-aircraft fire in front of an audience of hundreds. South Korea said a senior military officer was also killed.

The news comes weeks after the reported execution of 15 senior officials. Among them were two vice-ministers who had challenged Mr Kim over his policies and members of an orchestra.
North Korea has always been the focal point of all things bizarre.
Before this, North Korea had ordered people who share the name of leader Kim Jong-Un, the supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic Of Korea (a dictator basically), to change their names. All of them. This was apparently being done as a propaganda drive to build a cult of personalities around him. So basically, Kim Jong-Un's name is not allowed for newborns and people who share the name must not only stop using it, but must change it on their birth certificates and residence registrations as well.
Let's paint a picture here, shall we?
So, think of Rahul Gandhi being the Indian counterpart of Kim Jong-un. Imagine that there cannot be any other Rahul in the country.

I ended up Googling North Korea, looking for more bizarre happenings there. I wasn't disappointed. Some of the laws there are pretty random.
1. You need to be a VIP to use the internet.

Madness. Apparently, there's only one cyber cafe in North Korea's capital, Pyongyang. ONE!
Internet access there is restricted to just a few dozen families - most directly related to Kim Jong-un himself. Also, they have their own operating system for the computers called 'Red Star'. A pre-installed readme file on every 'Red Star' computer explains how important it is that the operating system correlates with the country's values.

So I actually read this in the papers thinking it was a hoax, and laughed it off. It's not though. North Korea actually ordered every male in the country to get the ¡°Dear Leader Kim Jong-un¡± haircut only, in an attempt to make every man have the same look. Equality on another level altogether, this is the only country in the world with its own officially sanctioned hairstyle.
3. It's year 103 in North Korea right now.

Hey Vivek, we are confused too. It's not 2014 in North Korea. According to their own Juche calendar, introduced in 1997, it is the year 103 in North Korea. Juche 1 is based on the year Kim Il-Sung was born i.e. April 15, 1912.

4. You cannot own a motor vehicle.

The brighter side is that this won't happen. But imagine a country where only the military and government officials can own motor vehicles. Really, welcome to North Korea!
5. Elections happen. But there's only one candidate to vote for.

6. It's illegal to turn off the radio.
Every household and business is given a government-controlled radio which is illegal to turn off. It can only be turned down!
7. Three generations of prison time.
Nope, even this isn't a joke. This means that a person is sent to the camp with their entire family, and the next two generations would be born in prison. If you¡¯re wondering what might get a North Korean sent to one of these prison labor camps, the answer is political crimes, such as criticizing the government or trying to escape. Yep. Crazy is right!
8. It's getting a brand new time-zone now!
Can someone tell supreme leader that by time-zone, people don't mean a place where he keeps his watches. No seriously, State news agency KCNA said "wicked Japanese imperialists" had "deprived Korea of even its standard time" by changing the clocks during occupation. North Korea is to switch to a new time zone to mark its liberation from the Japanese at the end of World War Two, says state media. Which means Pyongyang Time will see the clocks put back by 30 minutes on 15 August, making it eight and a half hours ahead of GMT, instead of nine.
So there's absolutely no positives of living a life in North Korea?
